Who are we?

Stamford & Oakham GTUK TaeKwon Do are part of the Bluecoat TaeKwon Do group run by Master Richard Auciello, 7th Degree Black Belt and are proud to be a member of the GTUK, which is run under the expert guidance and leadership of Grand Master Roy Oldham, 9th Degree Black Belt.

Bluecoat TaeKwon Do is a group with a long tradition. For us, it's not just about serious training: we love it when our students win medals, but we're just as enthusiastic about our groups that simply meet because they enjoy TaeKwon Do. We are proud to have a number of pupils from the Stamford club who have also competed for England at both junior and senior level. However is not only the physical successes that are important but also that of students whose lives have been improved through doing TaeKwon Do. He teaches students who suffer with learning difficulties and one particular student who suffers with Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of autism. Graham Henson started TaeKwon Do hardly able to stand on one leg, and has managed through careful instruction and determination to make it to Black belt. Graham was awarded Stamford’s student of the Year in 2003 and went on to be given a BBC East Midlands award for special achievement in Dec 2005. He now trains with the GTUK England Squad.
We don't differentiate between our students. Anyone is welcome to join us. Our qualified Instructors are team members just like anyone else and will be happy to tell you more about how TaeKwon Do can help you.
We're always happy to welcome new students, and suggest that you contact Master or Mrs Auciello to discuss your FREE trial!

Mrs Auciello started training when she was 21 years old in Stamford and reached red belt in 2000 before stopping to have 2 daughters. She took on an administrative role with the club, and also the role of GTUK England Squad Secretary.

Mrs A was inspired by the England squad students to start training again, and entered her first competition in Scotland in April 2012 and came away as the Scottish champion for female coloured belts sparring and destruction. She has continued to acheive at competitions, and during 2013 won 18 medals including 3 World medals, and was selected for England ladies team. She was awarded the Rutland Sportswoman of the year in November 2013 marking a fantastic year for her. In 2015 Mrs Auciello was selected as the Captain of the England Ladies Veteran Team, this was the first time the GTUK had ever been able to select a team to represent them at the UITF World Championships, the Team came back as World Gold Medallists in both Sparring & Power Breaking, and Silver in Patterns! As an individual Mrs Auciello won Silver in Power breaking, and bronze in Sparring.

Mrs A works as not just an instructor but also as club "Mum", specialising with daughters Jessica & Rimini in the Little Taeks (3-5 years), and those who need a little extra TLC at the club.

She is also the clubs secretary so is the first contact point for any queries. If you need any paperwork or information Mrs A is the one to ask....

Mr Mark Watkinson

3rd Degree Black Belt

Stamford & Oakham Assistant Instructor

Mr Watkinson (snr), started training as a result of watching his eldest son do TaeKwon Do at the Stamford club, and having been bitten by the bug has gone on to many successes himself. With over 12 years experience and many National medals he continues to push himself training with the GTUK England veterans squad. Like Mr Auciello, Mr Watkinson again lives and breathes TaeKwon Do and its a real passion in his household with all 3 Watkinson boys training as well as his 2 sons being on the Instructor graduate programme as well.

Mr Watkinson is the clubs offical Assistant Instructor, and he is a real safe pair of hands in Mr Auciellos absence. As a parent himself - he completely understands Mr & Mrs Auciellos ethos of ensuring that every students meets their own individual needs, and that not every students wants to be a World champion or train to peak fitness, but that some just want to increase confidence or be involved. Having suffered himself with a number of different injuries over the years, (not normally gained at training), he understands the needs of those who have to really persevere, and has a real gentleness with the students with particular needs.

You can easily recognise Mr Watkinsons soft dulcet Geordie tones at the club, and he is a real favourite of the students.

Miss Jessica Auciello

2nd Degree Black belt

Stamford & Oakham Head Taek

Jessica is the eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs Auciello, and has been training already for 8 years. Jessica has already represented England in the peewee section and also in Junior Team at the 2015 World Championships, where the team won 2 Bronze medals. She is also the current UITF European Power breaking champion, as well winning Silver in sparring, and Bronze in patterns at the UITF Euros in Poland 2016!

Jess has developed a natural flare teaching the Little Taeks (3-5 years), and the new beginners, and is a friendly younger face for little people starting in TaeKwon Do. Jess and her sister, Rimini take the youngest students under their wing, and give the little ones something to inspire to.
